It is a long (2.5 hour) drive to Llano de Las Flores, but a lovely one through the mountains which hikers consider time well spent to enjoy the terrific hike waiting there. The hike itself takes about four hours, including time for a sack lunch at a mirador overlooking surrounding hills and valleys. The two caves and waterfalls add a special touch to this outing. Participants are cautioned that there are some steep segments which require using a rope banister to get up the hill. This may be more challenging than some people are ready for.
Time frame: 8:30 leave from Llano Park / 9:30 rest stop at El Punto / 11:00 arrive Llano de las Flores / 11:15 begin hike / 1:30 sack lunch at mirador / 1:50 start return hike / 3:15 end hike / 6:00 return to Oaxaca.
